Reduced to Zeroes
Invalidation cuts both ways
from the sinner to the saint
or back again if truth be told
to be right is just that bold
the other end may have a name
still there’s room to shove the blame
without regard for middle ground
the place where truth can be found
this matters not for each side
it’s so much easier to glibly lie
even as the words assume
the vernier of studied truth
that surface all shine to luster
backed up with words of bluster
in the end there are no heroes
saints and sinners reduced to zeroes.

Be saint out in streets and a sinner in the sheets. Great poem. Politics are corrupt because used the negative to win the race. Keep on writing.

This is an exceptional piece, I truly love the rhythm and the message, equally. Well done.
You requested honest critique and I will say that I was bumped out of the rhythm you had going just a bit when it got to "that surface all shine to luster/backed up with words of bluster". I felt just a hint of forcing of the words to keep the rhyme. Just a thought, but maybe consider something like "that surface all shine to luster/backed up with fluff and bluster"? Or something similar?
I am perusing your poems right now because I see some overlap between your style and your interests with my own. I am enjoying the fruits of your emotional considerations as they have been converted to poetry. Keep writing, my friend, keep writing.
