Promised you I’d never drunk dial / And I still won’t / But no fronts / If I could do it all over again / I wouldn’t change a word or bend / Never told you but your words still lend perspective / e.g. I grind my checklist hearing out loud / “Here and now I’m young and brilliant; in a few years I’ll just be brilliant.” / I didn’t take that as “Oh, her cynical humor is resilient.” / Instead I tracked your satellite view / Applied it to my own lore / Paraphrased that shit back as / Time is a carnivore / Mindful of so many lessons more / Re-set my standards from the span I couldn’t then understand / More facets at work than Earth’s grains of sand / Unpacked strengths in every name / Caprice or Lane or Mistress K who was just feral / Sharing space with strangers / Each chamber liminal, beyond compare / Bonded simple, higher awareness / Deep space / Each face: / Parallel to the spiral dynamic carousel / Gelled but untethered / The severed Gordion Knot / As well I never forgot a chop / The night at the Brothel, watching 4 feet of snow drop / Still fills a quiet spot behind my eyes / I can’t lie / I kinda miss your driving / And the last 5 minute talk at the close of the night / All the unspoken or shit that can’t be opened / Your special way of saying goodbye / Just an aside? / Noah promised to never drunk dial / Honesty in Loki though / I never swore off drunken poetry
