A Sense of Community
We should learn a lesson from flowers
How they have a sense of community
How they stay together in beds and drifts
In fields and mountain meadows
How they choose to be close enough
To hug and hold hands
And remain positive all day, every day
How they constantly turn to face the light.
How they bloom wherever they are planted
How they grow in the sunshine and the rain
How they return after the bitter winters
To blossom and happily sway in the breeze
Even though their beauty last but for a season
Can we not at least smile and wave to one another?
How they have a sense of community
How they stay together in beds and drifts
In fields and mountain meadows
How they choose to be close enough
To hug and hold hands
And remain positive all day, every day
How they constantly turn to face the light.
How they bloom wherever they are planted
How they grow in the sunshine and the rain
How they return after the bitter winters
To blossom and happily sway in the breeze
Even though their beauty last but for a season
Can we not at least smile and wave to one another?
