Broken Boxes

breaking boxes is fun
when you�ve had enough
when you�re done
and all you�ve got
is a useless empty box
kinda like yourself
so punch it, wreck it
it deserves it, after all
beat it down, broken
is that all you�ve got?
make it crumble to the ground
so you can stomp the cardboard out
and all the things
that manifest
inside your angered head
can be seen through your bruised up knuckles
and spoken with the punch of a hand

Dear T,

I think this piece is a very creative and thoughtful piece for the release of anger and frustration for sure. Having actually done this in the past I have found that adding a layer of bubble wrap is extremely gratifying in releasing angry and frustrated feelings. Your poem has a very gentle voice behind it for me and I found this very pleasing as I read and reread it. Well done. H🌷

There�s something addictive when you punch something (anything really).. the sheer power in that moment, and being unaware of the damage you�re doing on impact. That�s what appeals the most to me, until I look at my knuckles and see I�ve split one open.... (oops). I�m so happy you enjoyed it, i suppose these writes end up being more gentle in flow than I intend, but so be it :)
