Wake up
Watch the world burn
Keep your distance
For the enemy is within
Trying to get out
Fear is a cold shiver
As the sliver of sanity
Finally slips away
Panic
Is the order of the day
Feel the sting
The shit show has begun
Hell is seeping through
Slyness of
Flesh and bone
Humanity
Is passing by
The real animal
Is showing
As halos choke the mask
Common sense
Can’t be heard over
The noise of confusion
There’s no limit
To the breakdown

I feel this way about the world right now, with it's 'shoulder bumps' for hellos, now everyone knows how poets feel, now that's scary :)

I really like this. Captures how fragile society actually is in the midst of a real threat. And yet humanity pretends to be all powerful on most days.
