Spring
Let me love you
Love you as I have with a heart tried
Through all the unnoticed hours before love dawned
And your eyes saw that it was I who lonely vigil kept
Those dark nights when love lived only in dreams
And days which bore winter's threadbare light of hope
Without compliant
Yet always praying for spring when flowers bloom
Though none so radiant as you
Who at times stills the very air
And all else falls away
Before beauty which transcends
And I in awe
Drink the draught your heart would speak
Breathing as you breathe
Your breath mine and mine yours
Desiring only your lips to speak your heart again
To mine
And taste anew the sweet nectar of your kiss
Love you as I have with a heart tried
Through all the unnoticed hours before love dawned
And your eyes saw that it was I who lonely vigil kept
Those dark nights when love lived only in dreams
And days which bore winter's threadbare light of hope
Without compliant
Yet always praying for spring when flowers bloom
Though none so radiant as you
Who at times stills the very air
And all else falls away
Before beauty which transcends
And I in awe
Drink the draught your heart would speak
Breathing as you breathe
Your breath mine and mine yours
Desiring only your lips to speak your heart again
To mine
And taste anew the sweet nectar of your kiss
