Roadside Artist

The daisies plied their trade
And the violets labored in the sun
While wild roses climbed and toiled
As the bees hummed and the
Birds all whistled while they worked
But it was the daffodils
Yes, only the daffodils
Who painted all day
With their brushstrokes
Of yellow and green
And it was they alone
Who made the roadside
More beautiful to me

Author's Note
I am the "daffodil king". I plant daffodil bulbs every year. My small farm can not have too many. They are my favorite flower. This is like a classic English poem and it came about when I misread a word from William Shakespeare I decided to write a poem using the word I had mistaken.
