Death of a Daughter in her Prime (Death of a Lady Chylde, second review)

Death of a Lady Chylde
The audience is not Dan Kozak
I think it's his daughter

When you read his book
You become the alcoholic daughter
who's father is calling out to you
wishing for yesterday
cursing tomorrow

Maybe you become Dan
Maybe that's because
Dan is the audience
You will definitely become Dan
Share his hot, guilty tears

Perhaps as she does...

She peeps through
those eyes on his book
I know she does!

I feel like she wanted
me to tell him with every fiber
of humanity we share

She loves him
she sees

I'm virtually her age

My father would have been
Dan Kozak's age

Our story is reversed
But it's not our story
that brought the
thunderstorm
in my heart

It was the desire
(Her desire?)

to bring fresh meaning
to his lamentations
to see an end to the
forgetting of joy

Death is not our end
it's just the last
page in a book
that exists for all time

In a tangled universe
her days of dappled sunshine
and smells of green grass are happening
as is the gathering around my grave
