Cold Feet

It was the most beautiful view
among the saddest he'd encounter
Where all of her soul was poured
among those feelings that she hid
among the heaviness of her heart
among the unresolved and petrifying thoughts
All of them
and so much more
they were part of her tears
She kept them for so long.

Her bravery was astounding
But she needed comfort
Not from someone else
but from her own world
That is in the brink of collapse.

A tear dislodge from the springs of her eye
Run along her soft and rosy cheek
Even before it reach
the edge of her magnificent shine.

It felt time was so slow
For him
All the pain,
the sorrows,
the anguish of losing
The split second for it to reach the ground
It felt excruciating
Longer than it should've been
As it splashed on the concrete floor
it was searing
to his heart
An intense earthquake that was far beyond
mere words and contemplation.

That moment
It shook the very ground of his soul
And what broke him most
Is that he was petrified
And was unable to reach her
At the moment that she was in need
of another world to rest in
while hers healed.
