The phantom's testament (I of III)
The book
As I turn the page
A ghost stands before me
Wearing a smile I had never seen
Which was lost as soon as the covers parted
“That is not yours
They are not your words
Nor are they to be read by you”
But I cannot stop
This diary holds the last testament
To a girl I once knew
As the pages turn my face loses it’s colour
My heart twists and darkens
Mercilessly beating while others do not
I read on
Of what shattered a broken girl
Or all of us responsible
The silly trivial things said
That stopped this girl
Becoming a woman
“You cannot read those words
For none can survive this scripture
As it was being written
Or as it is now being read
Do you think your fate will differ from mine”
I look up from the book
The ghost sees a face drenched in sorrow
And fears the worst
I turn the page
As I turn the page
A ghost stands before me
Wearing a smile I had never seen
Which was lost as soon as the covers parted
“That is not yours
They are not your words
Nor are they to be read by you”
But I cannot stop
This diary holds the last testament
