Believe me, knowing sweet beings like you keeps me grounded. For the life of me I can't figure out why I would have a bias. It's a shallow bias, at best. Like you, I can easily fear men.

I don't even know if i fear women or just the idea of hurting them or not being good enough. All i know for sure is that it causes social avoidance, which appalls me. And hurts my good friends. Who have to wonder what the hell is the matter.

This whole poem affair was my heart trying to make up the difference any way I can. 💖🙏🌹

it's not that I really "fear" them; it's more like I don't underestimate what they're capable of.  I've been around the block six decades or so, and witnessed as well as experience some pretty unbelievable shit.  Some my responsibility—some completely unwarranted.  

The issue always comes home to one point: the ability to let go of something or one you feel has offended you.  if you can't let go, you will carry a grudge that plants a bitter seed deep into your heart.  And if you still don't let go, that seed will sprout roots that will strangle your heart in resentment.  You will always blame others for own choices, because, if they had not done that blah blah. .  .

Forgiveness ( not to be confused with absolution ) is ONLY demonstrated through actions. You can say you've forgiven until hell freezes over; however, if you're still acting bitter, you haven't.  Thus, those roots of resentment are now so thick they are clouding your judgment.  

All you can do is navigate the pond in any situation, Jess.  Don't bite the baited hooks; swim around them.  Or, locate another pond if you want. But, it will be wherever you go unless you have a private place to ensure the quality of interaction.

Wonderful, and so very true! I love having the eyes of bigger perspective to share with me.

I don't have a problem with letting go... but I know some do, so your point is big. Bigger than the two of us... this pond, even. The individual hooks will be set out there, and the giant trolling nets. Everybody should care. Just not let it shut you down... my weakness... i overreact at this point, i think.

When you've attempted to be cordial toward a person ( or persons ) who dramatically retaliate,  avoiding future interaction is not a demonstration of unforgiveness:  It's wisdom.
