The familiar coldness
Clawing in my veins
Bloodshot eyes
Lethargy
A deep sadness
The depths of loneliness
Stretch over the corners
Of my field of vision
And everything in between
Dreams repeat memories
I want to forget
Sleep or awake
There’s no respite
From this life of heartache
The familiar coldness
Feels comforting
Because it’s all
That’s ever been there
