Someone with integrity
who does EVERY being respect
deems important honesty
does bridges and not walls erect
Not positively a Luddite
just perhaps not acquainted with Twitter
seeks to inspire not hate incite
no lunatic posts typed on the shitter
Person not prone to misogyny
an advocate for the environment
one with brain-possessed progeny
not dimwitted peddlers of excrement
A compassionate soul and altruistic
not some egomaniacal fool
wise, well spoken, toward the world diplomatic
not a bully remembered from grammar school
Excuse me, sir, but you've done wrong
that space is for names suggested for candidacy
not a one, two, three...82 words long

Author's Note
Today I voted in our primary election. I wrote this after considering what qualities would I look for in a candidate for president and contrasted, not unlike Hamlet in his mother's bed chamber, these exemplary qualities with those of one so pathetic as we have now. Also lamenting not having better alternatives.

I believe there was such a candidate, unfortunately she didn’t make it past January. A refreshing write!
