can't you see it plain as day

I hate to say it, but it almost always does.

For purposes of dialect emphasis improper ( by definition ) grammar is always acceptable.
LMAO @ the American reference! Is it not worldwide?! Some of my earliest memories were of political arguments in a British pub when I was about ten!

The mutual mistrust and disrespect are so intense these days.
The lack of substance in political debate.
Rage and animosity.
Name calling.
It seems a sign of the times, but I have read that it's always been. Maybe our smaller world makes it seem more intense.

This is true, it is different somehow, from what I remember. I am a democrat and could not stomach the democratic debate last night. I think I watched 15 minutes and tuned out. The moderators didn't help, of course.

Yup. Even the pretense of civility is missing.
This poem was written with my brother in law in mind, who cannot tolerate my liberal politics. But we liberals are just as narrow when it comes to our "righteous" causes. We all live on the same planet but in different worlds.
So I don't know the answer. But discourse would be a nice alternative to what we generally have, which I guess was the point I was trying to make.

I fall into neither category fully—I have liberal and conservative views depending on the topic; therefore, am a reject of both. So be it. My father always told me the middle was the right place to be; and, if both sides were angry with you, then you knew you were pretty much right. LOL!

It's a sad truth.
This poem sounded harsh to me and I kind of regretted posting it.
On the other hand, it's just a wearying truth about our culture these days. I've gone mute about politics except among my like minded friends.
Wish I could say my other friends have done the same.
