Lighthouse
I am lost at sea
Tsunami waves crashing around me
Not physically, but emotionally
And more profoundly
Despite the dark situation
I will be brave
Just a little ray to light my way
Then I will ride out the wave
There is no sign of a bay
There is scurvy decay
The storm wind makes me sway
Almost blows me away
Despite the dark situation
I will be brave
Just a little ray to light my way
Then I will ride out the wave
How I miss the sun
Lack of salt water on my tongue
Lack of water in my lungs
Lack of waves hitting me like a drum
There is a piercing freeze on this night
Bitter darkness, no sweet light
But I won't lose this fight
I'll paddle on with all my might
That's right
Despite the dark situation
I will be brave
Just a little ray to light my way
Then I will ride out the wave
Out of the thick hide of darkness
Light stabs through
Then all of a sudden, my hopes and energy are renewed
My many struggles and doubts suddenly seem few
I get a boost of courage and that helps me pull through
I see a lighthouse, through the haze
Then the darkness starts to fade
The cruel night becomes glorious day
And there is a calming of the waves
The closer I get
The further from the storm
No longer that cold and wet
But more dry and warm
Just a sense of security
But it's that strong
Light was what I needed all along
Before I know it, I find solid ground
I was lost, but now I'm found
I was trapped but then I got out
And its All thanks to your lighthouse
Your word is a lamp to my foot
A lighthouse to my ship lost at sea
Helped me emotionally stay put
As anxieties surrounded me
Got rid of my doubts, eased my fears
What was dark and hazy, now is clear
Your gift, your book, I'll always hold dear
And into its pages, I'll always peer
Despite the dark situation
You helped me be brave
You are the bright ray
That lit the way
For me to safely ride out the wave
And I'll study your word each day
So that I never go astray
I will apply all the things you say
For the rest of my days
