Him or you
He makes my spirit soften
From the jagged edge
You carved into my heart
Still, you pull at me like a black hole
Too often blinded by your power
I venture much too close
Losing hope and faith
To your gravity
His gaze is so sure that I exist within myself
Yet you tear at my weakened sentience
And like a shark, circling its prey
Come quick to rip my mind to shreds
He caresses the pain from my life
Yet thoughts of you still poison me
I’m saved by the potency of his intent, like wine
So I drink of him to be so full
I no longer need you.
From the jagged edge
You carved into my heart
Still, you pull at me like a black hole
Too often blinded by your power
I venture much too close
Losing hope and faith
To your gravity
His gaze is so sure that I exist within myself
Yet you tear at my weakened sentience
And like a shark, circling its prey
Come quick to rip my mind to shreds
He caresses the pain from my life
Yet thoughts of you still poison me
I’m saved by the potency of his intent, like wine
So I drink of him to be so full
I no longer need you.
