My best friend

My best friend

My best friend
Hair so grey
Her face lined
Her eyes tired

A wisdom held secret, locked behind a lifetime of strife.
Sleep now my love
Sleep now my friend
Sleep now my protector
We shall meet again.

I will look for you at those pearly gates
Smile so wide
Hair so brown
Eyes so bright
Please wait for me.
I have a life to live, children to love.
Only then shall we meet again
