The Cardinal
My lack of scales was a dead giveaway
Enslaved in this carefully constructed illusion that has become our hell
I use to sit inside you forever after we both had came
Staring deep into each other’s eyes
My dead skin caked beneath your fingernails
I’ve become everything that I despise
My veins hardened
I wear this mask of scabs to hide from you
Mind ripe with delirium
Paranoia ripping us apart
I watched your eyes roll back into a violent void
My contents emptied inside of you
Your last words whispered were I am scared
The guilt still sits
Heavy in my stomachs pit
Enslaved in this carefully constructed illusion that has become our hell
I use to sit inside you forever after we both had came
Staring deep into each other’s eyes
My dead skin caked beneath your fingernails
I’ve become everything that I despise
My veins hardened
I wear this mask of scabs to hide from you
Mind ripe with delirium
Paranoia ripping us apart
I watched your eyes roll back into a violent void
My contents emptied inside of you
Your last words whispered were I am scared
The guilt still sits
Heavy in my stomachs pit
