Red as the Sky
red as the sky
i remembered
her heart was so intertwined
between black and white
dark and light
red as the sky
this I knew
setting down, goodbye
ending the day in color
like dissolving paints
staining my eyes
seeing her there
in contrasting stripes
i often recall
the familiar days
of blue and sunshine
touching the flowers
feeling alive in yellow rays
red as the sky
bloody hue
how could it be?
what did you do?
she’s bursting in colors
for the world to see
stealing the daylight
becoming a blanket of uncertainty
yes, she’s red
like the dying sky
and she’s dancing in the dark
hiding secrets in the night
