Hopes For My Daughter

I hope my daughter is better than me.
I hope she has the courage to be free.
I want her to be beautiful so she doesn't have anything holding her back.
I want her to know that there isn't anything in this world that she lacks.

I wish that she goes after her dreams and succeeds.
I wish her beauty is something she will always see.
She'll never let someone walk all over her.
She'll never need the broken heart cure.

She won't suffer from any mental illnesses that I would have passed down.
She won't flinch from the touch of a person because she got taken advantage of.
She can't be mean unless absolutely necessary.
She can't stop her amazing heart from caring.

She will be flawed, but not because she experienced neglect.
Good is the only thing that she dreams about and expects.
I know she'll experience things I never wanted her to go through.
But she'll know her mother will help her figure out what to do.
