The Flood

The days started to dim a few years back
the nights a slight chill came floating on the air
Water started to rise ever so slow
Her rosy cheeks and smile started to loose their glow

Uphill the walk seemed longer now
but mountains can move depending on your point of view
To lay down and sleep just a little rest is all I need
“No” came a voice echo'd down the halls

The tide started to rise, breathing became hard
Must keep moving these arms treading the water below
Keep your head up as the stars will point the way
Light always gets darker in the middle of a tunnel
But what goes in must always come out

Q will become W, as it is easy to give up when the race has begun
Lungs burn and hurt but the race is worth the fight
A baby's cry rings out for the world to hear
Such is it was from the beginning of your life
