Poetic Smoke

Piss off an artist and you'll become their muse
Once their heated, it'll be too late for a truce
An artist will use an array of motivations
Emotions precede many of the equations

Creating pages of analytically thought out prose
It's never a good thing to become their foes
Lord knows that their wordplay may ruin your day
Don't want that smoke, better watch what you say

They're able to convey in ways that'll make you speechless
Able to say it in different ways that'll leave you breathless
Some of the best will confess their own flaws introspectively
Daringly giving you ammunition to attack them willfully

Deceivingly making you think that you've got the upper hand
Before launching a barrage of bars leaving you dead where you stand
A poet understands the power they possess within their craft
Attacking enemies head on instead of approaching from the aft
