Like a portal that us mortals wish to go through,

Well done, Wally! I thought this was a Pantoum at first, but I see only the second line is being repeated vs the second and fourth. It's a very tight rhyme scheme and solid form, Wally. Well done.

My only suggestion would be to trim out the extra "and" like so:
