The Dance
I waved them goodbye,
A pang in my heart as my family and friends left.
Arms wrapped around me, filling the empty hole inside.
I smiled.
He turned me,
Pulling me into his arms as we danced across the room.
Twists and turns,
Smiles, and laughter.
He dances me away from the window, deep into my home.
He twirls me,
Until my back is to him.
His arms wrapped around me,
Using his strength to hold me close.
He's backing into a dark corner,
He feels cold,
Pulling me further away from the light.
I feel a gentle kiss on my head,
A dark chuckle next to my ear.
Tears stream down my cheeks,
As I give in,
Entering the dark
With no hope of returning to the light.
I enter the darkness of my soul,
With Loneliness holding me in his tight grasp.
A pang in my heart as my family and friends left.
Arms wrapped around me, filling the empty hole inside.
I smiled.
He turned me,
Pulling me into his arms as we danced across the room.
Twists and turns,
Smiles, and laughter.
He dances me away from the window, deep into my home.
He twirls me,
Until my back is to him.
His arms wrapped around me,
Using his strength to hold me close.
He's backing into a dark corner,
He feels cold,
Pulling me further away from the light.
I feel a gentle kiss on my head,
A dark chuckle next to my ear.
Tears stream down my cheeks,
As I give in,
Entering the dark
With no hope of returning to the light.
I enter the darkness of my soul,
With Loneliness holding me in his tight grasp.
