One Day

One day
One day I’ll be making lots of money (one day)
One day I’ll be free to see the world (one day)
One day I’ll be living somewhere sunny (one day)
One day I can keep the sweetest girl
(One day)

One day I’ll be moving out my dads place
Wouldn’t have see the disappointment on my dads face
Soon enough I’ll have the funds to set up my own studio
Soon enough I’ll have the funds to buy up lots of ad space

It’s a rat race, and still I’m in the stable
Looking for a way to put dinner on the table
Trying not think it’s evil signing to a label
And proving to myself that am worthy and I’m able

From the cradle to the grave, we slave for finances
Try to be the flyest guy with highest priced assets
The world we all inhabit made to punish who is passive
And leave a lump of cash with the egos that are massive

That’s bound to cause some damage, not everyone is savage
So many want to live in peace, but need to flee the tragic
With my Gs I’ll seek out magic
I’ll treat disease and habits
Release the needy people from what keeps them in the panic

One day
One day I’ll be making lots of money (one day)
One day I’ll be free to see the world (one day)
One day I’ll be living somewhere sunny (one day)
One day I can keep the sweetest girl
(One day)

One day I’ll be making lots of money (one day)
One day I’ll be free to see the world (one day)
One day I’ll be living somewhere sunny (one day)
One day I can keep the sweetest girl
(One day)

I wanna move out, get me a house in New Zealand
Grow my own food, catch animals and keep them
have a couple kids, at least, so I can teach them
That living off the land is the true meaning of freedom

No more relying on the corporates
Of course it’s more a chore but it’s always more important
That kids are being taught how to live in ways affordable
And causing less harm to the planet they were born upon

I always thought store bought pork wasn’t harmful
Never thought the storm brought forth would be my fault
Made me wanna launch my fist through the dry wall
When I found out how I live will make the sky fall

Naturally the apathy that sat in me, actually more damaging then anything that I could manage actively
I have to be aware of the all the choices that I’m making
I’m past the point of claiming I am not to blame for taking

No action, in fact, I can be the change we need
I can really aim for peace
I can tweet to save the trees
and let the anger in me leave, let the grateful lead,
and hopefully I’ll show the world how we replace greed

I hate to see the way we take everything for granted
Celebrate the harvest but neglect that it was planted
Maybe there’s a heaven, for those that worked the hardest
Maybe there’s a way for us to erase the carnage

One day
One day I’ll be making lots of money (one day)
One day I’ll be free to see the world (one day)
One day I’ll be living somewhere sunny (one day)
One day I can keep the sweetest girl
(One day)

One day I’ll be making lots of money (one day)
One day I’ll be free to see the world (one day)
One day I’ll be living somewhere sunny (one day)
One day I can keep the sweetest girl
(One day)
