Castaways of the eternity

[...about death
what most dismays
is the sorrow
of a loss eternal
and not be able
to embrace you anymore...]

Our names
I wrote in the sand
then I got lost in the sea
a look towards the ocean
which well represents
the lapse of our existence

Dawn found us, one day,
embraced and sinking
after a stormy night
as an unexpected melody
announced the soft glow
on the night of our souls

Since then the love
has grown strong,
overcoming the fears
and distrust,
new delusions
and abyssal relapses.

How many obstacles
and doubts
have we overcome?
I wished to offer you
something better,
instead of this dragging us
in survival,
but...
I tried and failed

"Never mind,"
you told me
"What counts is that
we are still alive,
together, you and me!"
Of course you're right
is a marvelous thing.

But my anguish
is stronger
because about death
what most dismays
is the sorrow
of a loss eternal
and not be able
to embrace you anymore.

Our names
I wrote in the sand,
soon it was erased
by the foam of the waves.
