as the crow flies

the wind teases the naked old oak tree
branches creaking and moaning from side to side
white chested crow so quiet and free
lands upon the naked old oak tree

sky so grey and rain so light
lands upon the white chested crow
chest like snow and wings like night
what secrets does he know?

no sound of laughter in this show
only a naked old oak tree
and a white chested crow
sitting above just looking at me
