Image for the poem Quite

Quite

The unblemished will worst suffer a blight
To know the depth is to appreciate a height
The earthbound most acutely long for flight

There must be an ease to fully grasp a plight
Pathetic weakness inspires awesome might
It is the fearless who can best instill a fright

A man must be dull for another to be bright
To be a gentle soul is to comprehend spite
There has to be wrong for there to be right

It is through blindness that we receive sight
We earn a day's blessing enduring the night
We need darkness that we may see the light
