Granny's in heaven waiting for me,
the early morning sounds of birds chirping
lets me know the day has come along,
the beauty of the songs i hear in this room
erase away all the gloom,
i struggle to roll over on my back
as i look up in to the sky,
through this window by my bed
that i struggle to rest in ,
looking for that little angel
as she creeps through the room,
to stand by my side with a tear in her eyes
wondering why i haven't got out of bed,
and fixed her breakfast the way i always did
i watch her as she turns away to run,
looking for her mom, asking if granny is alright
why does she look so white,
mom, help granny stand up again
so she can fix my breakfast for me,
will you hurry she needs you to help her
she can't do it alone any more,
i know she is strong inside her heart
but her legs are so weak and sore,
so you have to push her in the chair
that papaw bought for her,
will you come along momma
hurry now before the sun goes down,
help her get out of her bed
so i can take a ride in granny's lap,
like i did yesterday when she got the chair
we had so much fun you hear me momma,
help me get granny up for the day
she lays around so much she looks lost,
i know i can make her smile
just get her up for me momma please,
so i can help her find some way to ease
that pain from the disease,
that grows within her soul
i know she hurts so much,
but momma if you help me
i can sit in her lap and set her free,
i'm granny's little angel
that arrives just as the day begins,
and i wipe away the tears on her chin
like she once did for me,
as she lays there in her bed
waiting for some one to help,
her fight this disease
that holds her prisoner of pain,
a bird lands on the sill of the window
and begins to chirp so loud you see,
a song of peace has come
and granny has gone home,
to live in heaven with God
a sound of silence fills the room,
as the little angel sings
granny is in heaven waiting for me,,,,
when tomorrow comes along
will she be singing that song,
the little angel of three years old
that helped her granny be free,
from the pains of yesterday…………
