The Smoke of a Gun
Look out the window, what will you see
A day of sunshine and cheerfulness
A day where the children laugh and play
A day where it seems nobody could hate
Except me..
I sit alone on this sunny day,
As I am not like the others were
I could not bring myself to laugh and smile as others did
And as others felt love and life, I felt hatred and dead
Insane is what they thought of me
Ignorant is what I thought of them
Oh how I loathed how they could live like this
One look at them gave me these thoughts
Homicidal. Suicidal.
An endless cycle of violence
Then that day came
And I could not control myself
I had to take action, make an impact on these people
Make them reminisce of the horror that took place on October the 8th
Yes, I knew it had to be done.
And as I stepped outside, feeling the mixture of temperatures
Oh the horrid feeling of warmth of the sun’s rays
And the thrilling chill of the gun on my lower abdomen
I walk down the street, no emotions, no thoughts
Just the thirst of blood from one of them
Searching for the right one
When a ball stops me in my tracks
I look at it and see the retriever
A little boy no older than 10 years of age
His blonde sun colored hair, pale white skin and the look of innocence in his sky colored eyes
Oh my, this boy could do no harm to anyone ever
He was just happy and bound for success
And in one smile and wave from this boy
In one moment of transition, of happy to horror
In one pull the trigger and smoke of a gun
He falls to floor in my delight
And as he lays there in his pool of blood
With that unforgiving bullet jammed into his skull
I stand over him and stare in my delight
Of the horror that I made
And in the pull of a trigger and smoke of gun
My final moments are finally done

heavy read, you cause doubt to the reader, and i expected the innocence to perhaps make you stop in your tracks. but nope, it's as dark in the end as it is in the beginning.. a very honest write on a very sensitive world famous incident.
