Deep Within

Deep within
The nightmares web
A captive soul
Held down by hands
Her mind has become
A tortured maze
She no longer knows
Her nights from days
Her heart is a tourniquet
Inside her hollow chest
Holding secrets
And all the mess
Frozen tears
No longer flow
Quivering voice
Out of control
Parroted words
Lost echos in the crowd
Flight of a bird
Steady in the sky
Held to the mind
Of a shaky ground
Windows of her soul
Which holds the deep
Wounds she has suffered
Which can't be seen
The path she walked
Was set a blaze
No time to pause
Or deliberate
Shes fading
Into the shadows
Still within reach
Drowning in the depths
Struggling to breath
Deep within
The nightmares web
A captive soul
Is held down by hands
