Evolution Dilution
The big blue world
Hides a dark underbelly
Of hatred and oppression
It’s beauty is a thin veil
Over the evil that prevails
Great words have peppered history
Born from destruction and death
They only serve to remind us
We are still children with tantrums
The learning process in its infancy
The technology we hold dear
Has only advanced through war
The race to the moon
Was a race between ideology
Rather than a selfless act of science
Tho it was a small step for man
Mankind can’t fill the shoes
We look at the stars
But can’t heal the planet
Because it’s easier to let it die
Underneath the veneer of intelligence
We are still animals underneath
We kill our own
We kill for food
We kill for fun
In the end our basic instinct
Drives onward to ever despicable acts
Evolving doesn’t mean just being able to think
It’s being one with the world
That has sustained our evolution through time
