My heart like a well
Replenished daily with fresh loves
And new wants
But deep down it's a cold
And icy darkness
Where the past heartaches are stored up
And brought up by the bucketful
When I dip way down deep for a drink
A paradoxical thing
With both love and hate on different strata
Never to mix
But always available if you drop the bucket down
Deep enough
