I Despise Change
My driveway
my mini van
I sit
no trees
to gaze upon.
Stark saddness
envelops me
I want my
fucking tree back.
Killers.
They chopped
down my joy
for dollars.
one more joint
in the mini van
before I drive into
the new neighbors
living room.

Didn't drive through the picture window. Should have. Just didn't. I'm to fancy for prison.

You're poetry always seem to be black and white, there is no grey nor wheels of colors to spin which i like very much. You call it as you see it, feel it, no bullshit.
There were two tall trees in my neighbors yard across from my balcony, I loved those "old guys' they resembled like two old man with droopy mustache looking down below chuckling at the absurdity of life. When i sat outside smoking, i would stare and think what their personality would be like if they could talk.
But a month ago they had them come and chop them down. I was so mad, I couldn't understand why, they didn't harm anything, they were just doing their time, quietly.
Anyhow...i get this poem Nik, i get you :)

Thank you so much.
I dont even know if what I write is poetry or just snotty sad statements with a dash of lemon zest.
I love trees. I want them all in my yard. I love nature I love the sound of nature less trees means less natures music makes me sad and angry.

I get it. Recently in my town, the powers that be had a 300 year old sycamore tree cut down because it's branches were hanging out too far over the road. Protest were ignored of course. It sickened me that such an old being so be so easily murdered. Good write nik.

Its like maybe people should watch out for the trees. We are in their way.
all the animals that get evited when they decide a tree has to go kills me.

OMG! I know how you feel! I was just fighting to save a 200 year old pin oak this week. They trimmed the branches and debated taking her down. I intervened, for now. Hopefully it will take.

I feel grounded and hapoy around my tall green friends. When they're all gone I feel empty. Thats Awesome you saved your tree. 200 and they want to decimate it. Truly sad. Humans can suck so hard sometimes.

You know, It's one thing if it's diseases and risks injury to homes because it might fall. But, it's another thing entirely if it's healthy, which this one is.

Thank you.
We need more trees and less people
5g will mean a lot more trees will come down. Breaks me little ol heart.

I hate when that happens.
We destroy nature and fill the gap with clever, man-made shit.
Well said dear, and nice original photo. Bless you.
PS> perhaps you meant "despise"? (or not)

I've taken so many losses. The worst is the loss of an old friend. Trees are supposed to outlast us, give air to the next us
