Hold me down
Stretch the skin on my face
To move like you want it
It must be good taste
To have a smile that’s haunted
You best not leave me alone
Or I might stray
Feed me my words through a straw
I could choke on perfection
My tongue sandpapered raw
‘Til it gleams recollection
Truth isn’t relative
At least not today
[chorus]
Hold me down
You can stop the world
From spinning now
But I’ll still taste the words on my
Lips from yesterday
Time just fades away
When you’re alone
With your thoughts overthrown
By their’s
Suck all the air from the room
Yet you’re the only one dying
Tell me is it too soon
To have moved past the crying?
Time is irrelevant
Where we are now
I tried to look through your eyes
But could only see your reflection
It seems narcissism
Spreads like infection
Living your life in glass
Where there’s no sound
[chorus]
Hold me down
You can stop the world
From spinning now
But I’ll still taste the words on my
Lips from yesterday
Time just fades away
When you’re alone
With your thoughts overthrown
By their’s
[Bridge]
You promise that you’ll be
Always there
When you need me
Cross your heart
And hope I die
[chorus]
Hold me down
You can stop the world
From spinning now
But I’ll still taste the words on my
Lips from yesterday
Time just fades away
When you’re alone
With your thoughts overthrown
By their’s
