love when confined to dwell
in human feelings
that have no application
in its dealings
is like a will without a way
love’s what you do
not what you say
it’s how you deal
not how you feel
without work gloves
it’s not real love

INKling is my new series of short poems covering unlimited themes. Although an inkling seems to be understood as a slight suspicion or knowledge, I am using the term here to define absolute, intuitive understanding that cannot be faulted because it comes from deep within. Intriguing and at first i want to argue and disagree
but now i'll have to give this more attention and think about it
You and me might agree just our use of definitions and terms and symbolism may differ

I think I understand your feelings about this subject, Tallen. But I promise you will understand when I take the time to explain what I mean.
Everything I'm saying here is Biblical. It's what the Lord is saying in Micah 6:8, in the story of the Good Samaritan, and in many other instances.
One cannot say to a hungry brother, "I love you; be fed." One has to let that love reach out and give food to the hungry. In the Good Samaritan, the enemy Samaritan was the only one to show love. The priest and the Levite professed to be God-fearing, charitable men, preaching the Word and teaching others about God, and yet they looked the other way when one belonging to their very own race needed help.
I know you did not comment on "walking in the rain" because it expresses similar sentiments. Read it again and you will probably start to see what I'm trying to say. There is really no alternative for love but to heal others; that's love in working clothes.

Tell me, though: do you suppose amorous love (eros) is any different? Is it a way of feeling mushy and whooshy about someone without whom you think you can't live?
And what about familial love (storge)? Is it a way of just being emotional about your wife and children, etc?
And what about platonic friendships (philia)? Is there any essence in being chummy without DOING for your friends?
Above all, Godly love (agape) is more than feelings shared between "brethren." How does one show it: by singing praises together or saying "be blessed"?
God demonstrates it all: His action for "I love you" is the death of His Son on the Cross, in our place.
Perhaps you have not yet read "The Four Loves" by C. S. Lewis?
