Wander
Eyes glazed over, still drunk, I think
even tho, I surely know
fermented grains or even grapes
haven't tested these parched lips
in at least fortnight
a mere mortal memory
where bodies fall out of sight
as sunlight pierces shattered eyes
shuttered then shaken
grasping at time,
wanting to check out and cry
begging to hold on
to another day
no moving forward,
nor marching off to die
craving you again at my side
daylight doesn't wait to wonder
so I wander
aimlessly
I just wander
even tho, I surely know
fermented grains or even grapes
haven't tested these parched lips
in at least fortnight
a mere mortal memory
where bodies fall out of sight
as sunlight pierces shattered eyes
shuttered then shaken
grasping at time,
wanting to check out and cry
begging to hold on
to another day
no moving forward,
nor marching off to die
craving you again at my side
daylight doesn't wait to wonder
so I wander
aimlessly
I just wander
