Falling Stars
When words meant everything
why did we never say enough?
I've been crumbling lately,
stumbling over
things I meant to say,
wishing you knew.
Let's face it baby.
We're both broken,
breaking,
rebuilding
all in one fluid motion.
All in one sigh
we never hear from the other.
We collapse.
Rebuild.
I want everything to be okay
but the sky is shattering.
Can we make it?
I believe in you.
Just let go long enough
to catch me.
This frigid room and overflowing journals,
it's all we have
to fall into.
I promise I'll break your fall.
I'll put us back together, reassembled,
if we break.
Today,
I'm still clinging to your shirt
even though you're not in it.
This hopeless romantic
still has your romance to hope for.
