Right on Time
Approaching me
This guillotine of sadness
It distorts and cries on everything
That I ever hold dear
Love's the answer
So simple yet so far away
On black days is when I look down
See my feet dangling free
But just wait
Before you step down
Take the time to see tomorrow
But just think
Death is ever imminent
Why hurry when it's right on time
Looking at pages
Of myth and superstition
It rings hollow on every memory
A force fed mystery
Veins sprawling
The painting of your life
Every color floods the concrete
A basement eulogy
But just wait
Before you step down
Take the time to see tomorrow
But just think
Death is ever imminent
Why hurry when it's right on time
My heart blooms
And I dig through the dirt
Reaching past twisting barbwire
You reciprocate at last
Holding you close
We swim through scar tissue
Beyond doors of past failed attempts
No longer a reflection of
This guillotine of sadness
It distorts and cries on everything
That I ever hold dear
Love's the answer
So simple yet so far away
On black days is when I look down
See my feet dangling free
But just wait
Before you step down
