Until My Last Breath

a place I once felt was home
now feels old and dull
how is it that I
told myself I would never let it get this bad
yet here I am
in a crummy wasteland
but no longer
because if this place is gonna burn
it won't burn with me in it
I know you can see it in my eyes
the same look I saw in others
before they sought bigger dreams
now it's my turn to fly

look out
I'm running like a train
crashing through every obstacle
grabbing towards every goal
and if I should fail
i'll simply keep going
because now I see
the value of ME

I have the best girl
can't simply settle for mundane
she deserves the world
makes me sad when great things must end
but now I know
we must let those things go
otherwise we will never find more
just complacency
had my priorities all messed up
thought others would see my value
if I just simply kept my head down
did as I was told
that's not how the world works
must shoot passed the suppressors
become beyond their hold
much like when I was younger
I still can take on the world
until my last breath
