suicide

Down on the jetty
Her frail bones drape,
over into the water
Her toes and coldness chatter --
a friendship long forgotten.

Her wrists lay, exposed
The storms are dangerously brewing.
Knives gleam darkest in the dark,
and tonight the stars
have retreated home
behind the northern clouds.

Breath short,
The lake silently sighs
Scarlet emotions
are scattered across the sky.

Hush little darling,
Pour salt into your wounds.
Swim until you can't see the shore
and return home -
Just a tenant in your mothers womb.
