Roots
It’s true to say that your seed
Was not of my tree
But how beautifully our branches sway
Leaves no room for dismay
...
I will nurture you
Familiar
Yet foreign fruit
I will tend to your reach
So that you may always find the sun
And
Ensure your structure
Is stable and strong
Though you may not come from
Me
You move through me
Every vein
Every beat
Every breath
Every root
Was not of my tree
But how beautifully our branches sway
Leaves no room for dismay
...
I will nurture you
Familiar
Yet foreign fruit
I will tend to your reach
So that you may always find the sun
And
Ensure your structure
Is stable and strong
Though you may not come from
Me
You move through me
Every vein
Every beat
Every breath
Every root
