Who I am

Im not who I used to be
I used to be weak
I used to be fragile
I used to be frail
Not anymore I have overcome the heartache
I used to have bruises
I used to have pain
I used to have cuts
I healed my wounds and turned them into battle scars
I used to be scared
I used to be quiet
I used to be cowardly
Though I found my courage and began to scream for what is right
I used to hate myself
I used to cry myself to sleep
I used to humiliate myself
I've found the beauty within my soul and began to love me
I was beaten and bruised
I was shy and quiet and a loner
I was ugly and broken
I was scared of my own shadow
I was terrified
It different now I found myself in a different light
I'm the girl who was traumatized by the beatings I received
Those beatings only made me stronger
I'm the mother who sacrifices everything for her husband and son
The love they give me makes me overcome all odds
I love who I am and wouldn't be who I am if it weren't for the past
It only made be unstoppable and more powerful
I love who I am because of who I have been
