The excitement you get
When showing your work
Be it short story
Haiku
Or rhyming poetry verse
The anticipation
Will it be accepted
Or screwed up in disgust
Utterly rejected
You watch the expression
The reader's furrowed brow
Hoping for some showing
Of the here and now
Suddenly, a smile
A chuckle
Some laughter
And you know that this person
Wil read your writings
Ever after
