As writers we all crawled out from Gogols overcoat, no?

I can't say I know about russian philosophy but I love Dostoevsky. The aching, raw, desperate humanity of his characters. I agree about sharing, it creates bounty of the spirit, a very precious thing.

I absolutely loved the brevity of this. Each word seems meticulously placed to enhance their respective meanings.  The references, particularly to Russian philosophy is spot on.  I know it's only a novel, but I read Dostoevsky's 'The Idiot' years ago and I'll never forget its impact. Particularly a part right in the middle describing his choice - which was, of course, the wrong one and led to his demise. Who knows what the other would've brought. We all have that opportunity in our lives.

The final couplet is a simple yet very astute truth in that we're constantly evolving.  Really enjoyed this offering.
