mistaken
I miss you now
more
than ever before
I continue to dream
that you'll walk
thru my door
Rescuing me
from
who I've become
Saving my soul
before it goes numb
For,
I barely remember
how
I used to be
Before I surrendered
my right to be
free
Now,
Someone familiar
who
fits in my clothes
has stolen my identity
&
some how got old
So,
I am fighting!
To hold on the past
Even though
this experience
belongs in the trash
My only escape
Is a hole
in the ground
Surrendering
my thoughts
before
they cause
me to drown...
