I've never seen a real glacier ... are you close to the arctic circle and hence the midnight sun ... ?

Norway is indeed closer to the arctic circle and it doesn't really get dark this time of year.
It was my first time near a glacier, it was amazing, but devastating to see how it has melted so quickly over the past 10 years.
