As death came in the Garden of Eden when Adam disobeyed God, so came redemption in the Garden of Gethsemane when Jesus obeyed God.

As far as I am concerned, Christ died in Gethsemane; the Cross of Calvary is merely the evidence. There, in Gethsemane, His perspiration came as droplets of blood, mirroring the agony of Innocence taking the sins of the whole world on His shoulders.  For the first time since eternity, He was shut out from the presence of God the Father, whose will was NOT to "let this cup pass from Me."  Had Jesus not yielded to His Father's Will, humankind would have been lost forever.
