PARODYddle

a rhymed, mirrored double octet

“One's life is an act with no actor, and thus it has always been recognized that the insane man that has lost his mind is a parody of the sage who has transcended his ego…” Alan Watts

fools
r u s h    i n
where brave men
f e a r    t o    t a r r y.
m e n  of  shrimpy  minds
challenge  ancient  w i s d o m.
blind men boast of seeing new light,
deaf  men  hear  words  never  spoken.
dumb  men  fix  things  never  broken,
wrong men speak of sovereign rights.
beggars  dream  of  kingdoms,
sluggards leap  behind.
vague men carry
hot  a m e n s
no spring
cools.

weak
men  brag
of  their  power,
fierce  a n d  futile.
lonely  men  p r e t e n d
that  they  need  n o b o d y.
h o m e l e s s  men  dine à la carte
at  tossed-o u t-garbage   restaurants.
in  case  my  words  p r o v e  relevant,
c o n s i d e r  y o u r  l i t t l e   p a r t:
r i g h t-s i d e   this  p a r o d y,
c a r i c a t u r e    e n d,
cure the vaudeville,
kill the sore
red-flag
clique!
