A Twist Of A Vampire’s Fate XXI

Lost In The Charade Behind A Masquerade
Hotel Central Park
Sighisoara, Romania

Naynina closed the door to her hotel suite. She placed her box of garlic and cheese pizza down on an antique table near the door. She strolled through the foyer of her hotel suite. She walked through the living area, and then walked back to the master bedroom suite. Naynina entered and walked over to the bed. She threw her purse, the keycard, and the car key to the extended rental, on the bed. She belly-flopped on the queen size bed, bent her forearms, and dipped her head; she rested her chin on top of her arms.

“What did you mean about Levi, and dammit, I want the truth!”
“Levi and I have been seeing each other.”
“For how long.”
“A little over a year.”

“That…that no good fuck. And to think, I held onto my virginity to wait until we get married, and he has been banging a two dollar whore, that mothafucka bastard.”

Naynina sat up. She reached for her purse and opened it. She pulled out her cell phone and tossed her purse back on the bed. She slid it open and looked down at the screen. She rested the cell phone against her chin. She thought for a minute.

“What did you mean about Levi, and dammit, I want the truth!”
“Levi and I have been seeing each other.”
“For how long.”
“A little over a year.”

Naynina lowered her cell phone and pressed in a button. She placed the cell phone up to her ear.

COPACABANA APARTMENTS
Rio De Janeiro, Brazil

The ringing of the telephone awoke Levi. He turned over and looked at the bedside clock.

“Are you fucking kidding me!”
He needed sleep before his night shift started in a couple of hours.

Levi rolled over onto his side and extended his hand; he fumbled to turn on the lamp. He reached over for the telephone receiver and lifted it out the cradle. He laid back on his back and placed the receiver up to his ear.

“Yeah.”

Naynina wiped her tears away with the back of her hand.

“Hello.”
“Hi, it’s me.”
“Hey, there’s my baby. I take it you couldn’t wait unit next week to sex talk with your baby.”
“How are you?”
“Going crazy with an empty bed; the scent of your body cannot not be met by smelling your pillow.”

Naynina did not reply.

“Baby, are you there?”
“Ah… Levi, I cannot see you anymore.”

Levi tossed the covers aside and sat up. He swung his feet around, both landed on the carpet.

“Bring that shit back to me again.”
“I’m seeing someone.”
“Where the fuck is this shit coming from.”

Tears rolled down Naynina’s cheeks.

“Once I return, I prefer you to be gone.”
“Woo, slow down Naynina. What the fuck do you mean, you’re creeping with someone else behind my back.”
“You have the audacity to be calling out my sins out. You were the one who was seeing a tramp behind my back.”
“Baby, I do not know what shit you have been smoking on, but this dick has not touched no one, but you.”
“Then I guess, the story Mimi related to me about the relationship you and she had behind my back is a lie.”

Shit Levi thought.

“Ahhh.” Levi cupped the back of his neck. “Baby, I could explain that.”
“Explain it? Dammit Levi! We should not even be having this conversation.”
“Are you going to allow me to explain?”
“No, and it doesn’t matter, our relationship is over, pack your shit, and leave.”
“In case you have forgotten, I pay the fucking rent here.”
“Oh, you want to go there.”

Levi rubbed his hand backward through his hair.

“I’m sorry Naynina, I love you, and only you, Mimi and I…”
“I do not want to hear my name and that whore’s name in the same breath. It’s over Levi.”
“Wait a fucking minute, Naynina...”

Naynina slid her cell phone close. She tossed it on the bed. She balled into a fetal position and cried.

DRACON’S CASTLE
Sighisoara, Romania
Later That Evening

Dracon pulled his vehicle in front of his residence and withdrew the key. He looked over at the door. His palms refused to move from off the steering wheel. He sat back and then palmed his goatee down. He was in love with a woman, who was once married to him centuries ago, given afterlife, cannot die, and then landed up in someone else’s bed. And now an enemy from his past, who is also trying to rediscover lost time with her.

“Since I have found Naynina, who I have effortlessly searched for, maybe, I should just take her away from here.”

He wanted a new life between the two. Now that her blood runs through his veins. He believes the two can sustain a normal life of immortality.

Mordecai opened the front door.

Dracon looked over at his residence.

Mordecai stepped over the threshold.

Dracon unsnapped his seatbelt, opened the door, and stepped out his vehicle. He pushed the door close. He walked around the front of his car. He met Mordecai’s presence at the rear of his vehicle.

“Good evening Master. How were your travels?”
“Beneficial. Mordecai, can you advise Naynina, her presence is needed in my study.”
“Master, Naynina was here, however she fled, and her presence has not been accounted for.”

Dracon looked down at his Rolex. He looked back up at Mordecai.

“How long has she been gone?”
“I would have to say for several hours. Professor Peeples is up in arms over Miss. Polanski’s absence.”

Dracon sniffed the air. His head felt woozy.

“Dammit!”
“What is it Master?”
“Wherever Naynina is residing, there is a strong stench of garlic.”

Dracon sniffed the air once again. He could not smell the essence of Naynina’s presence. He flashed his attendance to the front door and entered his residence. He heard voices. His footsteps took him in the direction of the Grand Dining Room. Dracon entered. He glanced around at the seated diners.

Everyone seated around the dining table looked over where Dracon rooted his presence.

Dracon’s eyes immediately sought Mimi’s eyes.

Professor Peeples stood. He slammed his dinner napkin down on his plate. He advanced to where Dracon stood. He stationed his presence inches from Dracon’s presence.

“Professor Constantine, your servant has advised me Naynina has not returned, and it’s getting very late.”
“As you can see, Professor Peeples. I just returned from taking care of some business, and this information has taken me by surprise.”
“I suggest you call the authorities.”
“I will locate Miss. Polanski personally. If I’m unsuccessful, then I will call the proper authorities.”

Dracon’s vision carried his eyes down the length of the elongated table.

Mimi continue to eat her dinner.

“Mimi, would you happen to know Naynina’s whereabouts?”
Mimi lifted her head and pivoted in her chair. Her eyes met Dracon’s hypnotic eyes.

“The last I checked; I am not Naynina’s babysitter.”

“What did you mean about Levi, and dammit, I want the truth!”
“Levi and I have been seeing each other.”
“For how long.”
“A little over a year.”

“Who the fuck is Levi!”
“Professor Constantine, it is best you watch your language and your tone when speaking...”

Dracon snapped his two fingers.
Time stood still.

He looked back at Mimi.

“Who the fuck is Levi!”

Mimi’s eyes stayed affixed.

“He is Naynina’s boyfriend.”
“What conspired between you and Naynina about this Levi guy?”
“I advised her Levi and I had a relationship behind her back.”
“Fuck,” Dracon stated through clenched teeth. “Do you have any idea where Naynina is?”
“No.”

Dracon held Mimi’s eyes longer. He searched her mind for the accuracy of her words.  Shit. He took a deep breath, and then snapped his two fingers.

Mimi shook her head; she looked around the dinner table.

Dracon stepped back from Professor Peeples.

“Professor Peeples, do forgive my abrasive outburst.”
“All is forgiven Professor Constantine. I am just as worried about Naynina’s welfare as well. This is not something she is capable of doing. She is known to be prompt.”
“If everyone could excuse me for the evening. I have errands I must attend too, please enjoy the remainder of your evening.”

Mimi twirled a finger around an auburn curly strand.

“Would you like any assistance, Professor Constantine?”
“No thank you, good evening.”

Dracon walked to the door. He walked out the Grand Dining Room. He flashed his presence to the front door.

Mordecai was at the door with it open.

Dracon was out of the door faster than the speed of light. He transformed himself into to a bat. He soared toward the fading sunset.
